Very good quality munitions armour for a reasonable price. The chest plate and tassets are of a very good quality and are aesthetically pleasing (especially the pattern on the tassets). It is also easy to get on with it not requiring another person to fully put on like some armour. The mirror finish is also great with it rusting slowly and being easy to maintain with wax or oil as well as having a very reflective and smooth surface on the steel (try to avoid using even fine grit sand paper to remove rust as the finish is delicate and hard to restore). The leather on the belt and the shoulder straps is also high quality. The tassets being detachable is also a great feature as while they look great and finish the half-plate look they limit mobility and overlap so clatter together making lots of noise. It was also delivered in only a few weeks at a low price for the weight and the distance all the way from Finland to the UK, also I was able to reschedule the delivery to after I came back from holiday without an extra cost. Sadly, the cuirass is too big for most people as it is ‘one size fits all’ (unless you pay significantly to commission a custom fit one) so rests awkwardly my back rather than my shoulders making it straining to wear for an extended period of time. The best way to circumvent this is to add padding (I use a gambeson) as well as tightening the belt to the point that the breastplate and backplate overlap so fit torso depth correctly. detachable hinges connecting the tassets while usually very useful can sometimes be stiff and awkward. The backplate also doesn’t match the great quality of the other parts of the cuirass either as it is just a bland flat plate that probably won’t rest on your back comfortably leading to the before mentioned problem of the weight being held on your back rather than your shoulders. Also with pricing, remember that the price shown is excluding VAT tax so to figure out the full price multiply the price by the percentage VAT in your country and then add shipping cost, the VAT I paid separately was a nasty surprize for me so keep it in mind when considering the price. Overall, it is a great cuirass for a very fair and reasonable price (although it is often out of stock all over the internet) with some problems which are solvable and don’t ruin the otherwise great quality armour.
