Description of the Product A replica of the German M-24 hand grenade used in the First and Second World Wars. The M-24 Stielhandgranate was in common use on all fronts, and because of its special appearance, this hand grenade was often called a potato masher (kartoffelkeule). This model was introduced in 1915 and was further developed during the First World War, when it was used throughout the German Empire. In 1924, the model was slightly narrowed, the handle extended, and the belt clip of the explosive head removed. In practice, it was noticed that the soldiers tucked these hang grenades under the belt, so no separate belt clip was needed. The slightly longer handle made it easier to carry these grenades under the belt. This replica grenade can also be used to re-enact the First World War. There is a small difference between the M-15 and M-24 grenades, but the overall appearance of these two models remain the same. These hand grenades were used in World War II on all fronts. This grenade was tuned by opening the cap on the lower end of the handle and pulling on the string found inside.
