Description • Official Moomin Characters licensee • Each product is individually inspected Moomin mini mug Winter Forest is a smaller version of the Arabia Teema-shaped Winter Forest Moomin mug. The first mini mugs were introduced in 2011. The volume of a single mini mug is 12 ml. The Winter Forest mini mug’s illustration was taken from a couple of different Tove Jansson’s works. But the most peculiar source of the illustration was removed from the mini version of the mug. This was Tove Jansson’s letter made for children, who had written to Santa Claus in Finland. The letter was published in English in 1963. The Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs had ordered the letter from Jansson to boost Finland’s image abroad. The letter’s impact on the mug’s illustration was significant, the reindeer, clearly the biggest character on the mug, was taken from the letter.
