Description of the Product This is a miniature version of our popular Frontier knife, a type of knife often called a "trade knife" because knives like this were carried and sold by the fur traders during the American Colonial period. Carrying, selling or bartering with knives or with just the bare knife blades was common practice and easier than carrying money. The value of paper notes or metal coins was debatable on the frontier where native Americans and frontiersmen and pioneers lived, but a good knife was useful and valuable to anyone. This mini-knife with a curved blade is easy to use. It can be used as a skinner knife in hunting, camping and bushcrafting, or when collecting herbs. Small handy knives like this can even also be used to carve various objects out of wood. A small tool you carry with you every day and have with you for example on your light stroll through the local woods, is much better than having bigger tools just laying in your garage when you actually need them with you. The tools you carry everyday are the tools that get used the most. Sudden situations often rise during everyday tasks that require a small knife, both nowadays as they did in the past. This knife has full tang handle with polished wood scales on either side attached with rivets. The miniknife comes with a hand-crafted leather sheath. The knife fits firmly and snugly into the sheath that has a leather strap for carrying. A nice little everyday tool made to be used. This is a 100% handmade item and each item will have its unique small differences from piece to piece. The overall look, feel and size however are the same for each piece.
